Short Mat

Short Mat Bowls is played on two mats in the pavilion at Arundel Bowling Club. The season lasts from October to April with league and friendly matches plus internal club competitions and regular roll-up practice sessions.

Matches

Arundel have two teams, the Arundel Mullets and the Arundel Swallows, both playing in the South West section of the WSCSMBA League  -  with Mullets in Division 1 and Swallows in Division 2.   

All members take turns at stewarding home matches, to include provision of catering and raffle prizes, which are funded by the Club.

Internal Competitions

Annual Club Competitions - Ladies Singles, Mens Singles, Drawn Mixed Pairs and Triples - are open to all members and played in a friendly spirit with trophies being awarded at the end of the Short Mat season.

Roll-ups

Regular roll-ups are held on weekdays throughout the season and everyone is encouraged to take part in order to maintain and improve their skills, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We welcome all new players - whether brand new to any form of bowls or experienced at lawn, indoor, crown green or carpet bowling.  You can play Lawn Green Bowls outdoors in Summer and short mat bowls indoors in Winter all for just £140 per annum. That's unbeatable value, at only £0.38p per day.'
